Why should I become a member?

The Baylor Society of Physics Students is an official chapter of the national Society of Physics Students (SPS). We currently have over 40 members and hold meetings Wednesday afternoons once a month. We also host socials every Friday morning at 8:00 AM, where coffee and donuts are provided. SPS is a fantastic organization for students interested in physics because we offer many resources for learning and finding research projects. All students can benefit from our guest speakers and getting to know upperclassmen that can answer physics major questions. We encourage all SPS members to attend our many fun events throughout the semester.

How to Join

Sigma Pi Sigma

Within SPS is housed Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society, which elects members on the basis of outstanding academic achievement. This unique two-in-one society operates within the American Institute of Physics, an umbrella organization for ten other professional science societies. (Must be a physics major to be inducted).
